On a beautiful sunny summer day, we had the pleasure of filming Sophia and Joseph’s classically elegant and timeless wedding at the stunning London venue, Morden Hall. “The planning process felt surprisingly streamlined once we were clear on our non-negotiables. For us, the ceremony had to be in a very specific cathedral in London (St George’s Cathedral, Southwark), with a very specific priest who is a close family friend. From there, everything else followed quite naturally: the reception venue needed to be in or very near London, it needed beautiful gardens and water features, and it needed to offer exclusive use within budget. Having those priorities firmly in place narrowed things down and made decision-making much less overwhelming. Above all, what mattered most was creating a day that felt deeply personal, meaningful and full of joy”, said the Bride.

As a Morden Hall wedding videographer, I truly enjoyed filming Sophia and Joseph’s beautiful wedding. It was a memorable day filled with love, joy, and stunning décor. “Much of our inspiration came directly from the venue and from the feeling we wanted the day to have. We leaned into Morden Hall’s natural elegance rather than trying to impose a theme on it. Sophia is also lucky enough to work in the wedding industry (for the wedding planning app, Bridebook), so she’s seen a host of beautiful celebrations over the years, from which she drew inspiration (along with many years of daydreaming about her dream day!)”, shared Sophia.

“Our favourite moment? It’s impossible to choose just one, but for Sophia, walking down the aisle and locking eyes with Joseph stands out vividly. The cake cutting was also a true highlight – not just because the cake itself was such a showstopper, but because it doubled as a surprise gender reveal for our first baby: sharing that joyful, emotional moment with our family and friends, and seeing their reactions unfold in real time, was incredibly special”, said Joseph.

We would also say: focus on what truly matters to you as a couple, not on what you think a wedding ‘should’ look like. When your own priorities and values are clear, everything else naturally falls into place. And finally, choose suppliers you genuinely trust –  it makes all the difference to how relaxed you feel – and whose work captures your imagination”, shared Sophia and Joseph.

It was a great pleasure to be a Morden Hall wedding videographer. this 18th-century country house set within 125 acres of National Trust parkland provided a great backdrop for a romantic wedding of Sophia and Joseph. “Our wedding day was split across two locations that were both very special to us. The ceremony took place at the magnificent St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, whose stunning stained glass windows and soaring architecture create an atmosphere that feels both awe-inspiring and deeply sacred, which made it an incredibly moving place to exchange our vows (plus, as we have mentioned, the resident priest is a family friend, which made for a truly personal ceremony). As for our reception venue, Morden Hall felt like a hidden gem from the moment we visited. Surrounded by National Trust parkland and bordered by the River Wandle, it somehow feels miles from anywhere – despite being in London and so easy for guests to get to”, explained Sophia and Joseph.
