Eastnor Castle WEdding film of Brett and Scott
THE ART OF A GOOD MARRIAGE BY WILFERD ARLAN PETERSON
As Wedding videographers we absolutely love Wedding Ceremony reading. Not only these passages are a beautiful additions to the ceremony but words take on a whole new meaning when they’re uttered minutes before saying “I do’s”. Brett and Scott had chosen “The art of a good marriage” by Wilferd Arlan Peterson, a timeless passages about love and relationship.
“Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens. A good marriage must be created. In marriage the little things are the big things. It is never being too old to hold hands. It is remembering to say “I love you” at least once a day. It is never going to sleep angry.
It is at no time taking the other for granted; the courtship should not end with the honeymoon, it should continue through the years. It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives. It is standing together facing the world. It is forming a circle of love that gathers the whole family. It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice, but in the spirit of joy. It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways. It is not looking for perfection in each other. It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a sense of humour. It is having the capacity to forgive and forget. It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow old. It is a common search for the good and the beautiful. It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal, dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal. It is not only marrying the right partner; it is being the right partner.”
ALL ABOUT SCOTT AND BRETT’s JOURNEY
Scott and Brett met each other online over six years ago. Brett had just come back to the UK visiting Australia over the winter break and was jet lagged. He woke up very early in the morning to find Scott online. They started talking from then on. “Scott has always been an early bird, even to this day :)” shared Brett. After a year of leaving in separate apartments in Cambridge Scott and Brett finally moved in together. They filled their apartment with so many amazing memories and so much love for one another. Eventually, Brett proposed to Scott on Christmas eve in 2016. “I was nervous but knew he was the right person I wanted to spend my life with. I presented him with a vintage Omega watch as a token of our engagement”, said Brett. “Our engagement party was organised by my amazing sister and the help from the rest of my family. It was held in Australia and we had a fantastic afternoon of drinks and food with friends and family, most of whom made the wedding.”
“It’s hard to sum up all the traits that we love about each other. I love Scott for who he is, his caring nature, fun sense of adventure and the way he makes me smile. Scott thinks exactly the same about me. We both love the same passion for things and mostly each other’s company.”
THE EASTNOR CASTLE
Brett and Scott made their commitment to love, trust and support each other to the rest of their lives at the enchanting castle at the foot of Malvern Hills. Surrounded by a beautiful deer park, arboretum, and lake, Eastnor Castle is without a doubt one of the most spectacular places to get married in the UK. As Wedding videographers we were absolutely enchanted by its beauty! We asked Brett why they decided to get married in the Eastnor Castle: “As a boy I’ve always loved castles, I had a Lego one that I loved to build. Growing up in Australia we don’t have many castles like the UK and I always dreamt of getting married in one. Thanks to my amazing husband this dream came true and it was a bit like a fairytale wedding of sophistication and elegance. The memories will be with us forever.”
Brett and Scott we wish you nothing but the best for years to come. It was a great pleasure to film your Big Day and create a Wedding video for you.
